Responsibilities
1/2 of time for QA Testing:
- Working with Technical Product Manager (TPM), work through QA front end testing of ToolSight in support of bi-weekly releases. For example, software team will produce a system of updates in week’s 1 & 2. Starting in Week 3, QA tester will test the updates (including going back to previous releases/ regression testing) and finish by the EOW week 4. Then this will continue a periodic basis for release launches. TPM will create initial testing packages for QA tester to work through, QA tester may create their own / give feedback for future sprints to cover testing effectiveness.
1/4 of time for Data Input / Validation:
- Input – the team has test data that will need to be fed into the ToolSight system to support QA activities, so this would require manipulation, communication amongst the working team, and accessing the dev system to feed data in themselves for specific trials. Excel manipulation would be the requirement for this working component.
- Validation – Team member will need to go into ToolSight and periodically explore data that has been ingested, outside of normal QA activities. Cross comparison to other systems will be critical to make sure project is flowing as intended.
¼ of time for Training documentation
- Working with TPM, help create and test training effectiveness as the product continues to grow.
- Be available to help individual users navigate through the system while they get first‑time hands‑on experience with. This would happen in total a few days every month leading up to December.
- During “Go‑Live” phase, help receive feedback, build a list of long term / short term remediation projects with the team, help with Hypercare activities. QA will be dropped at that point to allow for successful launch of the ToolSight project.
Skills / Competencies
- Work independently, asking for advice / clarity when needed
- Comfortable giving feedback about QA steps to GE members and external application engineers
- Detail oriented – need to understand what steps team member took to create certain
- Excel manipulation / understanding is critical
- Basic scripting capabilities in Python would be a plus
- QA thinking – for happy path items, there
- Computer Creativity – for QA, being creative on how to “break” an application is critical. At points we will need to think outside of the box to validate the system, so being know what different software
- Comfortable working with unknown software – we are building this in fast increments, so being able to keep up with constant changes will be needed
- Scrum / agile knowledge a plus – we the GE team are learning as well, but having someone familiar with the working patterns would help immensely

Compensation & Benefits
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $21.73/hour - $33.95/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
