What’s the role

As a Senior Software Engineer – Endur, you will play a key role in a Greenfield, cloud-hosted Endur implementation, driving the project from design through build, implementation, and beyond. You will bring your expertise to the team, working with dedicated business SMEs to shape requirements and design for the company’s strategic ETRM solution, gaining end‑to‑end trading lifecycle experience across new commodities.

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborate with the Development Lead, business stakeholders, and IT teams to support the full project lifecycle – from scoping and requirements gathering to development, testing, and user acceptance.
  
• Translate functional requirements into scalable technical designs and develop robust solutions through effective coding.
  
• Work closely with Business Analysts to refine requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
  
• Diagnose and resolve critical issues in production environments, ensuring stability and performance of business‑critical applications.
  
• Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
  
• Drive innovation by proposing creative solutions to complex challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, keeping them informed and managing expectations throughout the development process.
  

What you bring

• 
  
• 9‑12 years of overall IT development experience, including at least 7 years of hands‑on Endur development.
  
• Strong domain experience in energy trading markets, especially European Gas – covering gas networks, balancing, scheduling, capacity, transportation, pricing, position, P&L, and exposure management.
  
• Solid understanding of trading instruments such as OTC forwards, storage, swing deals, swaps, options, and exchange‑traded futures/options lifecycle.
  
• Proven experience delivering solutions across the end‑to‑end project lifecycle.
  
• Proficiency in Core Java programming with expertise in design patterns, SOLID principles, JUnit, and test‑driven development.
  
• Good working knowledge of SQL and database interactions.
  
• Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for complex business problems and support user acceptance testing.
  
• Experience building end‑to‑end solutions in Agile environments.
  
• Strong stakeholder management skills with effective communication and expectation management.
  
• Experience working in Agile project delivery.
  
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub (preferred).
  
• ETRM/CTRM experience is highly desirable; candidates with strong energy trading application backgrounds will also be considered.
  
• Exposure to Endur plugin development using JVS (Java Scripting – OpenLink Endur) and OC (Open Components) is a plus.
  
• Willingness to grow Endur expertise through structured training and collaboration within a high‑performing team.
