Scientific Profile The professorship in “Ethnographic Cultural Analysis” is situated within the discipline of European Ethnology / Empirical Cultural Studies / Cultural Anthropology, a discipline concerned with the cultural analysis of everyday life. The successful candidate will be responsible for the subject within one of the three core research areas of the Faculty of Humanities, preferably the field of “Perception: Episteme, Aesthetics, Politics”. In research and teaching, the professorship focuses on a relational approach to understanding the practices, experiences, and narratives of social actors, and on analysing how these are embedded in contemporary processes of societal transformation. They will initiate and lead research projects at the University of Graz, thereby contributing to the further development of the Department’s research profile. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research of the subject in the bachelor’s programme in “European Ethnology”, the master’s programme in “Empirical Cultural Analysis and Political Anthropology”, and the doctoral programmes of the Faculty of Humanities.
