In the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, the Department of Computer Science - Networked Systems Group, offers two full-time positions as Research Assistant (f/m/d) (Salary is according to EG 13 TV-L) starting as soon as possible in the following research areas:
- Ref. 6187: programmable networks and in-network computing
- Ref. 6188: IoT systems, e.g., intermittent computing, battery-free devices
This is a qualification position in the sense of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG), which serves to promote a doctoral program in the field of computer science. The position is to be filled for a limited period for the duration of the doctoral procedure, depending on the qualification achieved, but for a period of usually 3 years. An extension for the completion of the doctorate is possible within the time limits of the WissZeitVG, if applicable.
The Networked Systems group develops concepts and methods to make networked systems, ranging from large-scale data centers to tiny IoT devices, more usable and sustainable. Our focus is on creating better programming tools, middleware, and protocols leveraging emerging hardware. We are looking for highly motivated PhD researchers to join our international team.
Area of responsibility:
- Conducting research on networked systems
- Participating in teaching activities, usually 4 hours per week
Hiring requirements:
- Scientific master's degree in computer science or a related field
- Keen interests in network architecture, protocols, and practical systems research
- Good knowledge and understanding of computer networks and operating systems
- Good programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Rust
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken
