The University of St. Gallen and its School of Management are inviting applications for an Assistant Professorship (non-tenure track) in the field of organizational behavior. The Assistant Professorship has a clear focus in terms of top end international research output in the fields of organizational behavior. The thematic focus of this position is on the core topics of organizational behavior in the context of today’s complex, uncertain, and socially diverse world of work. We do not wish to impose a restricted thematic focus for this position but rather search for a colleague who complements and enriches our areas of expertise and methodological competences. The future colleague should apply the scientific knowledge gained in university teaching at all levels (preferably in German and English) including executive education. In addition, generating external funding for research projects is an important part of the position. According to our claim «From insight to impact» we welcome engaged scholars conveying scientific knowledge with societal relevance to students at all levels.
The professor will be part of the Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management (IFPM-HSG), which focuses on research in the areas of leadership, engagement, and new work with the goal to generate impact in both the scientific community and in practice. The triple accredited (EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA) University of St. Gallen offers a stimulating research environment and a large network of partner companies.
We seek candidates to fill the position per 1 August 2025 or by mutual agreement.
The appointment is for 6 years, with an intermediate evaluation after 3 years. The University’s administrative language is German. If the successful candidate has no prior knowledge of German, he or she will be expected to acquire a passive knowledge of the language within two years.
The application should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications, two (working) papers that best represent your current research, overview of the teaching portfolio and teaching evaluations if available. The appointment requires a completed PhD. If the completion is upcoming, candidates should provide us with the timeline (date of defense, receipt of the certificate). Candidates should submit their application to the President of the University of St.Gallen, Professor Dr. Manuel Ammann, online via at the latest by January 19th, 2025.
The University of St.Gallen is committed to promoting equal opportunities and an inclusive working culture. We explicitly encourage women and members of underrepresented groups to apply.
