For the working group “in vivo functions of glycinergic neurotransmission,” we are offering a postdoctoral position (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis (40 h/week), limited to 3 years.
The position is available in the AG Eulenburg in the field of Neuroscience for initially three years. We are interested in the regulation of inhibitory neurotransmission in the brain stem and spinal cord by neurotransmitter transporters in the context of the neuronal control of breathing. We are tackling these questions by state-of-the-art biochemical, genetic, electrophysiological, and behavioral methods.
New colleagues will benefit from a highly collaborative international environment, state-of-the-art facilities, on-site educational programs, and numerous networking opportunities within the young and rapidly developing research environment in Augsburg.
Minimum Requirements:
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Dr. hum. Bio, Dr. rer. nat. or equivalent in biochemistry, neuroscience, biology, or similar background or medicine or related disciplines) or thesis submitted for awarding of the degree.
- Research experience after your PhD (Postdoc or similar) is an asset but not a prerequisite.
- High level of motivation and enthusiasm for independent scientific research in an ambitious, international team.
- Knowledge in mouse genetics, molecular biology, protein biochemistry, cell biology, or imaging are advantageous.
- Interest to work with animals (rodents).
- Fluency in English is needed; knowledge of German language is not necessarily needed, as we are an international lab and our lab language mostly is English but is of course appreciated.
The position is suitable for people with severe disabilities. Applicants (m/f/d) with severe disabilities will be preferred if they are essentially the same aptitude, ability, and professional performance. Women are invited to apply in accordance with Article 7 (3) BayGlG.
Please submit your application as soon as possible, latest at the 3rd of April 2024 .
