Responsibilities
Meeting the objectives in teaching, research and administration in accordance with the development agreement to be concluded
Research-based teaching in the field of language, culture, translation and interpreting Turkish (8 semester hours per week)
Participation in related administrative tasks as well as the preparation and administration of examinations
Conceptualization and participation in projects related to language, culture, and translation didactics
Coordination of the functional area “Personnel Management and Adjunct Lecturers”: Conception, and organization of teaching assignments, management of the call for applications including the selection process, in close coordination with the chair of the curriculum committee; advising and supporting Adjunct Lecturers; onboarding new colleagues; organizing professional development measures
Member of the Team of Coordinators of the Department; close consultation and collaboration with the coordinators of the other three functional areas (“International and Public Relations”; “Digitalization and Translation Technologies”; “Language and Translation Didactics”) as well as in close consultation with the head of department and the chair of the curriculum committee
Contribution to research activities at the department
Participation in organizational and administrative tasks, as well as in evaluation measures
Qualifications
Completed doctoral degree or PhD in the field of Translation Studies
Excellent language and culture competence in German and Turkish (native level)
At least 5 years of experience in teaching at university level as well as in translation practice
Outstanding didactic skills and willingness to explore innovative language-specific and language independent teaching formats
Willingness to pursue further training and integrate digital (translation) technologies into language and translation teaching
Experience in using relevant media in teaching
Relevant research activities and publications (desirable)
Excellent organizational skills and experience in teaching coordination
Strong teamwork and motivation skills
Social skills and enjoyment of working with students
Willingness to participate in further training measures of the university

Salary We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 70,200.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
