Salary level: EGR. 13 TV-L

Start date: 01.01.2027, fixed until 31.12.2029 (fixed‑term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed‑term labor contract act [WissZeitVG])

Scope of work: full‑time position suitable for part‑time

Responsibilities

  • Run web lab/dry lab experiments to acquire new data
  • Establish new methods to study RNA biology in fungi
  • Write research articles and grant applications
  • Supervise doctoral projects
  • Teach at the Bachelor and Master levels (4 LVS, 4 hours per semester week)

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field plus doctorate
  • Strong research and publication record on fungal RNA biology (alternative RNA polyadenylation)
  • Experience in molecular biology research (cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, qPCR, recombinant protein expression)
  • Experience in fungal biology research
  • Experience with advanced RNA lab methods
  • Experience in scientific writing (research articles, grant proposals)
  • Experience in teaching (co‑supervising BSc/MS projects, class teaching)
  • Fluent in English and German language
