Start date: 01.01.2027, fixed until 31.12.2029 (fixed‑term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed‑term labor contract act [WissZeitVG])
Scope of work: full‑time position suitable for part‑time
Responsibilities
- Run web lab/dry lab experiments to acquire new data
- Establish new methods to study RNA biology in fungi
- Write research articles and grant applications
- Supervise doctoral projects
- Teach at the Bachelor and Master levels (4 LVS, 4 hours per semester week)
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field plus doctorate
- Strong research and publication record on fungal RNA biology (alternative RNA polyadenylation)
- Experience in molecular biology research (cloning, DNA/RNA isolation, qPCR, recombinant protein expression)
- Experience in fungal biology research
- Experience with advanced RNA lab methods
- Experience in scientific writing (research articles, grant proposals)
- Experience in teaching (co‑supervising BSc/MS projects, class teaching)
- Fluent in English and German language
