At the Faculty of Catholic Theology, the University of Vienna seeks to appoint a Full Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Philosophical Anthropology .
The position:
The task of the professorship is to work on the areas of philosophy of religion, philosophical anthropology, philosophical theology, metaphysics and other disciplines of philosophy anchored in the curricula for the study programmes of theology and religious studies in research and teaching. The professorship is intended to continue the Institute\’s tradition of engaging with the religious philosophical and anthropological currents of so-called âContinental Philosophyâ, in particular modern and contemporary philosophy, and to promote the research focus on questions of non-European philosophies and interreligious and intercultural dialogue. The faculty aims to strengthen collaboration between the different theological disciplines and cooperation with neighbouring faculties, in particular the Faculty of Philosophy and Education. For this reason, it is looking for a scientific researcher who is qualified in the above-mentioned key areas and is actively involved in the main research areas of the Faculty and the âReligion and Transformation in Contemporary Societyâ research centre. A Habilitation (venia docendi) in a subject field relevant to this position or an internationally accepted equivalent qualification as well as a doctorate/PhD in philosophy is desirable.
