Responsibilities
Independent research in church history
Teaching assistance and support, including digital formats
Preparation and completion of habilitation thesis
Support the research focus of the department
Student supervision and departmental administration
Future Tasks
Develop an independent research profile
Participate in research projects and academic studies
Prepare habilitation thesis
Publish internationally and give lectures
Hold courses in accordance with collective agreement
Involved in student supervision and departmental administration
Qualifications
Completion of basic studies and a doctorate in Catholic theology
Excellent knowledge of German; very good knowledge of English, French, and Italian, preferably via experience abroad
Very good knowledge of church history; specialization in European church history, modern Catholicism, and history of mentalities and spirituality
University teaching skills, preferably evidenced by relevant certificates and experience in independently delivering courses, including digital formats
Very good knowledge of Latin, and solid knowledge of Greek and Hebrew
Experience applying for and securing external funding
Experience planning, organizing, and budgeting academic conferences
Publications in the field of church history
Experience in university self-governance
Desirable Qualities
Experience in student support
Solid knowledge of Spanish
Knowledge of paleography
Experience with innovative forms of digital communication
