The successful candidate represents the field of Slavic Literary and Cultural Studies with a primary focus on one East Slavic literature and culture and demonstrates expertise in at least one additional East Slavic literature and culture (Russian and/or Ukrainian, and, where appropriate, Belarusian). The appointee is expected to conduct research on East Slavic literatures and cultures in their diverse transnational entanglements and to apply current methodological approaches in literary and cultural studies in a productive and reflective manner. Furthermore, evidence of active integration into international research networks is required. Active participation in East Central European Studies as well as interdisciplinary collaboration within the University of Vienna’s research priorities is expected. The successful candidate is able to actively use at least one East Slavic language in teaching. Teaching responsibilities are expected to cover the full range of East Slavic literatures and cultures, including introductory and advanced courses in literary history, at all curricular levels (undergraduate, graduate, teacher education, and doctoral programmes), as well as supervision of theses and mentoring of early career researchers. Willingness to actively participate in academic self-governance is required. Experience in collaboration with non-university partners and a record of successful external grant acquisition are expected. Your academic profile:
