Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Cryptography Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia Work type: Full Time Tenure track: 2‑Year Convertible or continuing appointment Salary: Lecturer (Level B) – AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation; Senior Lecturer (Level C) – AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation.
Overview Join the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW to conduct research and teaching in cryptography and secure computation, contributing to high‑impact research and curriculum development.
Responsibilities
Conduct research in post‑quantum cryptography, quantum algorithms, foundational theory, and the design and analysis of cryptographic primitives and protocols.
Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supporting student learning.
Supervise advanced research students and contribute to research profile.
Participate in curriculum development, educational leadership, and mentoring of students and colleagues.
Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to securing research funding and grant applications.
Qualifications – Lecturer (Level B)
A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
Proven commitment to staying current with discipline knowledge and developments.
Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
Experience using educational technologies and online delivery methods.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
Experience with industry or work‑integrated learning (desirable).
Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Qualifications – Senior Lecturer (Level C)
