Course leader & instructor* for Initial training - Air Traffic Control (ATC)
Tasks that lift your mood
- You deliver theoretical and practical training and independently prepare training materials and teaching aids, including training manuals, learning resources, assignments, and examinations
- You ensure the quality of initial and continuation training and contribute to the development, review, correction, and evaluation of examinations and assessments
- You act as the primary contact person for participants in your assigned courses and address social conflicts proactively and professionally to support their resolution
- You develop targeted support measures for individual course participants, identify development opportunities and potential, and assess participants’ capabilities
- You independently develop learning objectives, training content, teaching methods, and instructional materials for Air Traffic Controller training and development programmes
- You contribute to the further development and modernisation of the training portfolio through methodological, didactic, and technical development projects
- You support other departments in theoretical and practical training activities at the DFS Academy and continuously expand your professional and instructional expertise
What makes you stand out
- You are a fully trained Air Traffic Controller and bring extensive professional experience, including several years of experience as an On-the-Job and Simulator Instructor
- You have extensive cross-unit experience and in-depth knowledge of operational procedures and systems within air traffic services
- You demonstrate outstanding methodological and didactic expertise, supported by instructor qualifications such as OJTI and/or advanced instructor qualifications
- You communicate confidently in English and German, both written and spoken, or you are willing to actively develop your German language skills to at least B1 level
- You are highly committed to supporting trainees as they enter a completely new and challenging professional environment
- You stand out through excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility across different duties and responsibilities, and a willingness to learn and develop expertise in new subject areas
Additional information about the position
As part of our Initial Training team, you will help shape the next generation of air traffic controllers and play a key role in delivering high-quality training in a unique and highly demanding operational environment. Working closely with fellow instructors and subject-matter experts, you will contribute your operational expertise, teaching skills and ideas to continuously enhance our training programmes and support trainees on their professional journey.
