About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Subsea Cable Installation Project Engineer to join a growing offshore cable team in Hamburg.
This is an opportunity for an engineer with hands‑on project experience across subsea cable installation, who understands the technical and operational challenges involved in delivering offshore cable projects from engineering through to installation and completion.
You will work closely with project, engineering, offshore and client teams to support the successful planning and execution of subsea cable installation campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, engineering and execution of subsea cable installation projects
- Develop and review installation methodologies, procedures and project documentation
- Coordinate technical requirements between engineering, offshore installation and project teams
- Support cable installation engineering activities including route, installation, burial and cable handling considerations
- Review technical documentation, drawings, calculations and installation procedures
- Work with installation contractors, vessels and equipment suppliers
- Monitor technical progress and assist with resolving project and installation issues
- Support offshore mobilization, installation campaigns and project close-out where required
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, method statements and technical reporting
Requirements
- Previous professional experience in subsea cable installation
- Strong understanding of offshore cable installation methodologies and processes
- Experience working on subsea power cable projects, ideally export or interconnector projects
- Engineering background within offshore, subsea, marine or cable industries
- Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple technical activities within a project environment
- German language is not mandatory, but would be advantageous
- Must currently live in Germany
- Must hold German citizenship
- Candidates requiring visa sponsorship or relocation from outside Germany cannot be considered
