Overview
In this role you provide practical legal support and governance for Germany and Operations EMEA, collaborating with cross-functional teams across Construction, Procurement, Public Policy, M&A, and Employment. You lead contract work, manage external counsel, and drive continuous improvement in processes and templates. You will balance strategic business risk with pragmatic legal advice to enable regional growth. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead and support contract projects, including structuring, review, and negotiation of framework and individual contracts
- Lead legal work and manage external counsel for Operations EMEA and Germany
- Support global legal strategy for construction and development projects in Germany, plus contract management and governance
- Attend meetings and negotiations with business, authorities, and third parties
- Assist with due diligence on various group matters
- Provide practical ad-hoc advice and partner on strategic matters with Operations EMEA and Germany
- Coordinate with external counsel on regulatory and other legal requirements
- Develop standard forms, templates, policies, and explore legal tech / automation
- Drive continuous improvement and standardisation of processes across the region
- Advise on maintenance and reactive services contracts, security, and facilities management; support supply chain and general commercial contracts
- Instruct and manage outside counsel for jurisdiction-specific advice
- Help design contracting processes and ensure compliance, including data protection and anti-bribery considerations
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Procurement, and Development/Construction to enable a group-wide approach
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Minimum 5+ years post-qualification experience, ideally including a top law firm
- Some in-house experience preferred but not essential
- Strong experience in commercial transactions, especially supply chain, operations, or services agreements
- Hands-on advice on time-critical legal matters and risk mitigation
- Experience in legal reviews, negotiations, and drafting of commercial contracts and related documents
- Experience across multiple jurisdictions preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder management
- Team-oriented, flexible, autonomous, and able to work across time zones and with cross-functional teams
