Description
Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of analytical, electrical, and instrumentation (E&I) systems within the HDPE production area by independently performing and coordinating maintenance, inspection, calibration, and repair activities.
Support daily maintenance operations and contribute to plant availability, process safety, and operational efficiency through expertise in Online Analytics and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), while ensuring compliance with all applicable HSE, GMP, AQS, and Engineering standards.
Responsibilities and accountability
Requirements and expertise
- Ensuring the availability and functionality of analytical, electrical, and instrumentation and control systems within the HDPE plant area
- Performing and coordinating maintenance, inspection, calibration, and servicing activities, as well as independently analyzing and troubleshooting faults and malfunction
- Supporting Production in restoring plant availability, as well as providing technical support to employees and external service providers
- Coordinating maintenance activities and liaising with Production, Technical Services, and Engineering while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, including the required planning of additional staffing needs
- Performing and supporting E&I and analytical activities during plant shutdowns, projects, service and inspection work, commissioning, and technical modifications
- Participating in root cause analyses, improvement initiatives, and measures to increase plant availability and operational safety
- Ensuring compliance with HSE, GMP, AQS, and Engineering standards, as well as supporting audits and safety assessments
Personal skills
Education
- Vocational qualification as an Automation Technician, Industrial Electrician, Electrical Technician, Mechatronics Technician, Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Advanced qualification as a Master Technician (German Meister), State-Certified Technician, or equivalent is considered an advantage.
- Several years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), Instrumentation, or Automation within the process industry
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, process control, and analytical systems
- Experience with field instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, level, and flow measurement
- Experience in maintaining and calibrating analytical systems and gas detection equipment
- Ability to read electrical schematics, loop diagrams, terminal diagrams, P&IDs, and technical documentation
- Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and PLC systems is advantageous
- Good understanding of applicable electrical regulations and standards, including DIN VDE, BetrSichV, DGUV, and ATEX requirements
- Strong knowledge of Electrical, Measurement, Control & Instrumentation (E&I/EMSR) systems and industrial process analytics
- Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

- Strong teamwork, communication, and technical leadership skills
- High commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP PM, and digital maintenance systems
- Flexibility to support shutdowns, on-call duty, and continuous professional development
