Overview
In this role, you will safeguard Verisure’s technical innovations by managing and defending our IP portfolio across hardware, software and connectivity. You’ll partner with Technology and Procurement teams to enable rapid innovation while ensuring robust IP protection and risk management. As a senior member of the Legal team, you’ll shape IP strategy, governance, and training to embed a culture of IP. This position combines strategic counsel with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, international environment.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Develop and maintain knowledge of Verisure technologies and collaborate with Technology and Procurement teams
- Support invention harvesting and disclosure processes throughout the R&D lifecycle
- Improve IP governance, invention disclosure, and incentive frameworks
- Protect innovations via patents, trade secrets, and confidential information handling
- Prepare, file, and prosecute patent, utility model, and design applications with external counsel
- Provide freedom-to-operate analyses and IP advice to tech teams
- Manage IP infringement, validity assessments, and related enforcement actions
- Oversee patent watches and searches
- Offer legal guidance on patents, utility models, designs, trade secrets, and confidentiality
- Develop and manage global patent, utility model, and design portfolios with internal stakeholders and external counsel
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to implement the IP strategy
- Develop and deploy IP policies/guidelines and deliver trainings
- Contribute to IP transformation initiatives and internal reporting
- Participate in broader Group Legal activities
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Patent attorney qualification (European Patent Attorney preferred)
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in a fast-paced multinational company or law firm
- Experience with complex, system-based technologies combining hardware, software, and connectivity
- Experience across mechanical, electrical/electronics engineering, and telecommunications
- Proven advisory experience to middle and senior management
- Fluency in English; other European languages are a plus
