In this role you will advance autonomy software for onboard drones and cloud coordination for multi‑drone fleets. You will push 3D perception, mapping, and collision avoidance under real‑time constraints, collaborating across teams to create a robust autonomy pipeline. Your work will span research, integration, and field validation to ensure safe, reliable flights in dynamic environments. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Design, develop, and optimize onboard autonomy software for real‑time operation
- Advance collision avoidance and obstacle handling in complex environments
- Contribute to cloud backend systems coordinating multi‑drone fleet operations
- Integrate perception, planning, and flight execution into a unified autonomy pipeline
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation in simulation, bench, and field environments
- Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues across teams
Zentrale Anforderungen
- MSc (or higher) in robotics, control systems, computer science, or related field
- 4+ years in autonomous systems or robotics
- Strong C++ (performance, reliability, maintainability) and Python experience
- Solid foundation in 3D mapping, sensor fusion, probabilistic filtering, SLAM, and machine vision
- Experience with motion planning/autonomous navigation and safe robot behavior
- Ability to navigate and improve large embedded real‑time codebases
- Familiarity with drone tech, embedded systems, or safety‑critical control software (desirable)
