Customer Engineer Thermal - Zurich / Central - North Switzerland

Overview In this role you will maintain, service, troubleshoot, and commission complex refrigeration and air conditioning systems on customer sites. You will work independently in a field service capacity, upholding high safety and quality standards while engaging directly with customers. Your work includes bringing new systems online, handling on-call support, and documenting activities with mobile tools. This is a hands-on position that supports Vertiv’s mission to ensure availability and reliability of critical digital infrastructure. Verantwortungsbereiche Perform maintenance, servicing, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems at customer sites Troubleshoot issues and provide rapid on-site solutions, part of rotating on-call support Commissioning of new systems, conducting functional tests and customer briefings Adhere to EHS guidelines, handle refrigerants safely, comply with regulations Maintain strong customer contact, provide system feedback and resolve technical inquiries Document assignments and report clearly using mobile tools Zentrale Anforderungen Vocational training in refrigeration, HVAC, or ventilation technology or equivalent Professional field service experience is an advantage; open to career starters willing to learn Certified expertise for refrigerants per F-Gas Regulation (Category I) Valid Class B driver’s license Independent, structured work approach and comfort with direct customer contact Willingness to travel and participate in on-call duty Proficiency in German (written and spoken) and basic English Customer-oriented Solution-focused Safety-conscious Refrigeration and air conditioning systems (split, VRF, precision cooling, chilled water) Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis System commissioning and functional testing
