What You’ll Do We are seeking a Hardware Line Manager to lead and develop our Lausanne Hardware team. As a key leader, you will manage the Hardware team within a multidisciplinary R&D team of talented engineers developing next-generation satellite communication technologies. You will be responsible for both people management and technical leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of highly reliable hardware solutions for advanced systems such as phased array antennas, in demanding environments (land mobile, aerospace).
The day-to-day Team leadership & management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of hardware engineers
Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support career growth
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture
Manage resource allocation, hiring, and team scalability
Project & technical leadership
Oversee the full development lifecycle of electronic hardware projects
Ensure high-quality design, validation, and delivery of analog and mixed-signal electronics
Drive system architecture decisions in collaboration with RF, mechanical, and software teams
Ensure compliance with requirements (performance, reliability, size, weight, and environmental constraints)
Manage risks, priorities, and timelines across multiple projects
Execution & coordination
Interface with internal stakeholders and external partners (suppliers, contractors)
Ensure alignment with program milestones, budgets, and deliverables
Oversee design reviews, testing, and production readiness
Promote best practices in design, documentation, and verification
What You’ll Need
MSc or equivalent, in electronic engineering or a related field
8+ years of experience in hardware/electrical engineering, including technical leadership
Previous experience in team management or informal leadership roles
Strong expertise in analog and mixed-signal design
Experience with full product lifecycle: design, validation, and industrialization
Solid knowledge of PCB design tools (preferably Altium)
Experience with tests activities & lab equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, VNA, etc.)
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to drive decisions and align cross-functional teams
Availability to travel to the US and across Europe to follow up with the other team members, contractors, and to attend conferences
What Will Help You On The Job
Experience with high-speed interfaces and complex systems
Knowledge of satellite systems or RF architectures
Experience with FPGA or microcontrollers
Experience designing for harsh environments (aerospace, automotive, etc.)
Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama)
Knowledge of EMI/EMC design and testing
Strong system-level thinking and architecture skills
Strong balance between technical depth and people leadership
Ability to scale and structure a hardware team
Focus on execution excellence and delivery predictability
Capability to influence across disciplines and organizations
