As a systems engineer for battery integration in the US market, you will develop concepts and integrate battery modules, analyze stakeholder needs, define hardware/software requirements, prioritize solutions, and coordinate implementation within the project team.
You’ll work within a high-performance team driving innovation in photovoltaics, energy storage, and e-mobility markets.
Your impact
- Developing system architectures for BESS, considering technical specifications, creating hardware/software concepts, and documenting related materials.
- Acting as a technical expert in battery and photovoltaic (PV) systems, understanding component functions and system operations.
- Providing expertise and guidance to support other teams, such as Technical Service and Training, in accompanying battery systems throughout their lifecycle in the market.
- Identifying and coordinating work packages with internal departments and external partners, including research institutions and suppliers.
- Collaborating with Purchasing to monitor cost figures for components and subsystems and optimizing costs within systems.
- Supporting the planning, organization, and documentation of certification processes for new and existing products to ensure regulatory compliance.
Who you are
You have a mindset of flexibility, initiative, and responsibility. You are familiar with working along the V-Model and have long term, detailed knowledge in hard- and software development for battery & PV systems. You also bring:
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical or systems engineering, energy management systems, or a related field.
- Expertise in developing electrical energy storage systems, including coupling batteries with PV systems, charging systems, inverter technology, and/or e-mobility.
- Basic knowledge of the product certification process and documentation.
- Understanding of relevant standards and regulations for the US market.
- Experience in lifecycle management and familiarity with tools such as Siemens Polarion and Atlassian Jira.
- Proficiency in English (C1 level) and German (B2 level preferred).
