Second art museum of the Canton of Vaud, the Collection Technician at 60%Second art museum of the Canton of Vaud, the Musée Jenisch Vevey presents a rich program of temporary exhibitions and a permanent collection of paintings, in a subtle dialogue between ancient and contemporary art. The museum also preserves an extraordinary collection of works on paper, in particular the Cantonal Print Room, the Planque Foundation and the Oskar Kokoschka Foundation.In your capacity as a collection technician, under the responsibility of the head collection technician and the head of the technical department, you will collaborate with them as well as with the museum team. As such, you are responsible for the following main tasks, among others:- Ensure the preventive conservation of the collections- Carry out the packaging, framing, and creation of supports for works- Maintain technical equipment related to the collections- Participate in the installation and dismantling of exhibitions- Manage the packaging, transport, and logistics of works- Ensure the management and organization of reserves and technical resources- Contribute to exhibition projects in an eco-responsible and sustainable approachThis position requires:- Federal VET Diploma (CFC) in a technical profession or equivalent experience- Confirmed experience in a similar position, preferably in a museum or cultural institution- Good knowledge of standards and techniques for the conservation and handling of works of art and framing techniques- Knowledge in the field of conservation of works on paper, an asset- Minutiae, sense of responsibility, organizational skills, and perfect autonomy- Ability and team spirit- Proficiency with common toolsThis function involves irregular working hours and a variable distribution of the activity rate, depending on the workload related to exhibitions.Start date: December 1st or by arrangement.Further information can be obtained from the Head of the Technical Department.Your application, including a cover letter, your curriculum vitae, copies of your diplomas, and work certificates, must be sent to us by email by Sunday, September 6th.
