To maintain our leading position and further expand our global impact, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior General Ledger Accountant to strengthen our financial team.

The activities in this position are carried out within the Record to Report BNL team in Group Business Services. The team is responsible for the financial accounting activities of more than 40 entities of Vion Food in the Benelux and the Vion Food’s international sales offices in Europe and Asia. In this role you will manage a number of assigned entities and report to the Teamleader Finance to Report. This includes responsibility for all general ledger entries, periodic closing activities, tax and statistic submissions as well as supporting activities for projects, initiatives or treasury support. Accurate, timely and complete data processing is critical to ensure compliant and high quality data, maintaining good relations with the business management and group control is essential for the success of the role.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the entire accounting process, including managing complex transactions and ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Leading and coordinating the monthly closing process, focusing on timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with internal control standards.
• Actively participating in the planning and execution of internal and external audits, ensuring a thorough assessment of financial processes and systems.
• Developing and implementing advanced accounting strategies and systems to enhance efficiency and streamline reporting processes.
• Advising senior management based on in-depth analyses of financial data and trends, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization.
• Lead team initiatives or projects and be active as back-up for the RTR Teamlead

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably within the food production or agribusiness sector.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and local GAAP), tax regulations, and industry-specific regulations related to the food industry.
• Experience in leading a team and proven skills in process optimization and project management.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and make strategic recommendations.

What can you expect from us?

• We start with a one-year contract with the intention of converting to a permanent position.
• A gross 4 weekly salary of to €4.084,40 to €6.132,18 based on 38 hours per week, depending on your knowledge and level of experience.
• In addition to the salary, you will receive a year-end bonus of 2%.
