Mission of the Role:

The Senior Counsel Europe will provide hands-on legal advice and perform a broad range of legal tasks. This role will provide key support to the General Counsel EMEA with regard to legal, compliance and corporate governance matters of the entire organization including review and preparation of contracts, and assuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a new, dynamic, high-profile position at Visteon which would be an excellent fit for a motivated, mature and self-starting professional willing to take on new and challenging projects.

Key objectives of this Role:

• Provide overall legal advice relating to contracts, supplier negotiations, customer negotiations, strategies, and contract risk mitigation.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with customers, suppliers, and service providers.
• Advise on contract enforcement, contract disputes, supplier quality matters, contract terminations and transitions, and distressed supplier issues.
• Identify and advise on legal and business risk associated with business opportunities, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Support M&A activities, litigation and compliance matters.
• Provide training to purchasing, sales and marketing teams on a variety of legal topics.
• Assist with employment and environmental, health & safety matters.
• Support corporate governance activities.

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

• 10-15 years of legal experience in relevant areas, including, contracts, business transactions, M&A, litigation, and employment matters.
• Juris doctorate from a highly accredited university; current active legal registration required.
• Fluent in spoken and written German and English.

• Demonstrated excellent academic credentials.
• Trademark or other intellectual property knowledge and practice.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with senior management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience managing and completing complex projects in a demanding environment.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Strategic thinker with focus on practical client advice and the ability to advice on legal risks within a business context.
• Hard working, well organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
• Commitment to professionalism and collegiality are required.
