About the role
Our client, a solar energy company based in Bavaria, is looking for a Project Manager to join its team in Traunstein on a contract basis. The role carries responsibility for taking solar projects from planning through to completion, and will suit someone who can pick up live work and keep it on track.
The successful candidate will manage projects across their full lifecycle, covering scope, schedule, budget and quality. That includes coordinating internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers, tracking progress against the plan and resolving issues before they affect delivery.
The Project Manager will also be the main point of contact for stakeholders, including customers and partners, and will report on progress and risks throughout. Clear communication, sound planning and a practical approach to problem solving are central to the role.
Main responsibilities
- Manage solar projects from initiation and planning through to handover
- Define project scope, schedules, budgets and resource plans, and keep them under review
- Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver work on time and to the required standard
- Monitor progress, costs and quality, and report to stakeholders on status, risks and changes
- Identify and manage risks and issues, and agree corrective actions
- Oversee procurement, delivery and installation activity in line with the project plan
- Make sure health and safety, regulatory and grid connection requirements are met
- Maintain project documentation, including plans, reports, change records and handover files
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, partners and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally on solar, renewable energy or comparable technical projects
- Experience of managing project scope, schedule, budget and risk from planning to completion
- Experience of coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of the technical, regulatory and grid connection considerations that apply to energy projects
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work independently and manage a varied workload to deadlines
- Able to work from Traunstein
The offer
This is a contract position based in Traunstein, Germany. Rate, start date and contract length are to be confirmed with candidates. The role offers the chance to take ownership of live solar projects within an established company.
