Founded in 1867, the company today has around 22,000 employees, sales of € 5,5 billion and locations in over 60 countries worldwide and is thus one of the larger family-owned companies in Europe.Support the Voith Group | Division Hydro as aHead of Generator Technology (m|f|d)Job ID 75468 | Location HeidenheimAs Head of Technology for Voith Hydro Generators you are a crucial contributor to shaping the current and future technology portfolio for Voith Hydro’s electric machines globally.Your tasksContinuously improve Voith Hydro’s tools portfolio for electromagnetic, loss and cooling calculations for electric machines including the definition of calculation procedures.You will explore new technologies applicable or adaptable for electric machines and define and execute R&D programs to ensure Voith Hydro’s technology leadership.Provide functional and disciplinary leadership to a team of highly experienced experts.Furthermore you will provide global support with efficiency, temperature and cooling flow measurements for electrical machines.Build and maintain a strong relationship with stakeholders and partners within the R&D community internal and external to Voith.Foster and maintain the cooperation with universities and research institutions in the scientific field of large electric machines, converter and high-voltage technology.Represent Voith at industry forums, conferences and customer meetings.Your profileSuccessfully completed Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, PhD is preferred.Advanced knowledge and deep understanding of electric machine design principles and related technology.Curiosity and willingness to pursue new ideas.Knowledge of and experience with lean project management tools.Leadership experience is of advantage.Strong understanding of simulation software and tools landscape for electric machine design is required.Fluency in English, both written and spoken and basic knowledge of German are required as well as willingness to travel worldwide.We offer you an international working environment with an open and inclusive company culture.
