We are actively seeking a
TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER
who is as comfortable in an architecture review as in a roadmap workshop. You will work across both of our digital products, VBTV and volleyballworld.com, and you will be the person the team trusts to say whether an idea is technically sound and what it will really take to build.
VBTV ships on nine client platforms: Web, iOS, Android, tvOS, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung, LG and Roku. Almost every decision you make must hold onto all of them.
You will report to the Senior Product Manager and work alongside them every day. The roadmap is something you create and deliver together where you lead the technical side of it. You will work with engineering and product teams from several agencies and service partners.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Management
- Work with the Senior Product Manager to shape and maintain one roadmap across VBTV and volleyballworld.com, and keep it pointed at where the business is going.
- Own the backlog day to day: refine it, prioritize it, and run sprint planning with our internal and partner development teams.
- Write requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria that engineers can build from without needing a second conversation.
- Take releases from first idea to testing and launch across all VBTV platforms and keep everyone honest about schedule and risk.
Partner Collaboration
- Be the main technical contact for our technology partners - JWP, Applicaster and Cleeng today, and whoever joins them as the portfolio grows.
- Work with those partners on feature development, API integrations and platform updates, and make sure what arrives matches what was agreed.
- Track SLAs and hold partners to them, and lead vendor evaluations when we need to decide whether to build, buy or replace.
User-centred Design
- Work closely with our UX/UI colleagues to turn research and rough ideas into experiences that keep fans watching and coming back.
- Run user and market research and use what you learn to make the case for what we build next.
- Define the KPIs for each product, make sure the tracking is in place to measure them, and let analytics and A/B testing settle debates that opinion cannot.
Technical Oversight
- Review architecture, API contracts and integration designs, and push back on choices that will not scale.
- Read the codebase well enough to judge feasibility, effort and technical debt for yourself.
- Keep performance, reliability, scalability and accessibility healthy across all nine VBTV clients and the website.
- Make sure every integration stays inside data privacy law and our security standards.
- Cross-Functional Leadership.
- Work day-to-day with marketing, content, commercial and operations colleagues so that product plans and business plans stay in step.
- Translate between technical and non-technical people, in both directions, without losing the detail that matters.
- Lead through influence rather than authority and bring people with you.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years' experience in technical product management or a related technical role, ideally within streaming, digital media or consumer-facing digital products.
- Strong technical background with a solid understanding of APIs, application architecture, cloud infrastructure and software development processes.
- Good understanding of data and analytics, with the ability to translate insights into product decisions.
- Experience delivering complex, scalable digital products and working effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business needs.
- Experience working in agile environments and with tools such as Jira, Confluence and Figma.
- Fluent English (oral and written); French is an advantage.
Nice to have: Experience with OTT/streaming platforms, subscription and payment models, connected TV, sports/media/entertainment, or AI-enabled product development.
