Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft – eVTOLs). We have pledged to bring sustainable urban air mobility to life by getting electric air taxis off the ground in a way that complements existing transportation options in megacities across the globe. In 2011 we carried out the first-ever crewed flight of a fully electric multicopter and have since conducted more than 2,000 public and private test flights across the world (
Job Description
- You will take end-to-end responsibility for the department’s deliverables towards its customers.
- You will provide technical and disciplinary leadership to direct reports through coaching and mentorship, including resourcing, performance management, recognition, and reward.
- You will proactively identify hiring and training needs for the team to ensure the availability of relevant resources and competencies.
- You will ensure, maintain, and improve high standards of development quality within the team by establishing good practices and following the design organization’s processes.
- You will ensure communication flow and alignment towards and from the department’s stakeholders within and outside of the CTO organization.
- You will collaborate with other CTO departments and cross-functional areas to guarantee the best company results.
- You will establish conditions within the department to deliver the requested results in time, cost, and quality.
- You will be responsible for managing the departmental budget.
Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in Aircraft Engineering / Product Safety
- PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally
- Experience with leading motivated and high performing teams, comfortable with a high level of change, flexibility and efficiency
- Provide clarity through holistic understanding of technology
- Strategic mindset regarding future project needs and technology (roadmaps)
- Lead and train (team)leaders
- Substantial Management and leadership knowledge
- Find solutions through pragmatic mindset
- Very good English language skills (written & spoken)
