We are looking for an experienced Project Director for the successful realization of large-scale international projects in process industry with project volumes up to the triple-digit million range. This top position includes, in addition to the overall project and budget responsibility, the successful management of the project team as well as the ongoing communication with all stakeholders involved.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the successful execution of largescale projects (TIC > 80 Mio. €)
- Defining the project execution strategy to achieve the project objectives
- Leadership and steering of the entire project team
- Main contact person to the customer project manager during the entire project phase, ongoing customer communication
- Initiation of cost, risk and schedule controlling as well as responsibility for project reporting (including to the VTU management and the customer’s management)
- Taking responsibility for safety in the project, ensuring compliance with EHS requirements
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, standards and guidelines as well as the required quality in the project (QM & QC)
- Set up and establish scope, change & risk management at all levels in the project
- Highest level of escalation within the project to the customer, partners/suppliers and the project team before corporate management
- Manage workflow and internal communications to ensure relevant stakeholders are informed of project progress
- Negotiate with customers and partners (suppliers) and be responsible for contract design/management
Your Requirements:
- Completed technical studies with focus on process engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, plant or mechanical engineering or equivalent education
- Training in project management or PM certification is an advantage
- Several years (min. 15 years) of relevant experience in the execution of EPCM/plant engineering projects in a two to three-digit million range from the process industry, preferably in the field of pharmaceuticals or chemical plants
- Excellent technical and economic understanding of project processes and interrelationships
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Assertiveness combined with flexibility and hands-on mentality
- Enjoys working with different disciplines and has experience in leading project teams
- Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of German is an advantage
- Willingness to travel (mainly in Europe)
