We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering teams and support the design and execution of industrial fertilizer projects. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in mechanical design, equipment sizing, technical specifications, vendor management, and procurement support for fertilizer production facilities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and operational performance objectives. Your responsibilities Develop and review the mechanical design of static and proprietary equipment used in fertilizer plants. Perform design calculations, sizing activities, and technical assessments to ensure equipment meets performance and safety requirements. Define the technical characteristics and construction requirements of mechanical equipment. Prepare technical specifications for static equipment, materials, fabrication, and construction. Collaborate with drafting teams to develop and review technical drawings. Contribute to the selection of materials for static equipment, proprietary equipment, and piping systems. Assess welding requirements, fabrication methods, and manufacturing sequences in accordance with licensor requirements and operating conditions. Coordinate with Process, Plant Engineering, Drafting, Procurement, and Project teams throughout project execution. Provide technical guidance and support to multidisciplinary engineering teams. Prepare material requisitions and service requisitions for equipment procurement. Review technical bids and evaluate supplier proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications. Support procurement activities by clarifying technical requirements with vendors and suppliers. Manage technical follow-up activities during manufacturing and supplier execution phases. Review and approve supplier drawings, calculations, and technical documentation. Collaborate with Quality teams on inspection and test plans (ITPs), manufacturing procedures, and quality requirements. Support the resolution of supplier non-conformities, manufacturing issues, and technical deviations. Monitor and manage technical matters related to design, materials, fabrication, and welding throughout equipment manufacturing. Your profile Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification. Extensive experience in the design and engineering of equipment used in fertilizer production facilities. Proven experience working on projects involving: DAP (Diammonium Phosphate); NPK; SSP (Single Superphosphate); CAN (Calcium Ammonium Nitrate); Other fertilizer process plants Strong knowledge of equipment such as: Scrubbing Columns; Venturi Scrubbers; Drum; Granulators; Drum Dryers; Fluidized Bed Coolers; Cyclones; Tanks; Filters Experience with steel and FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) equipment design and fabrication. Strong understanding of mechanical calculations, material selection, welding technologies, and manufacturing processes. Experience preparing technical specifications, material requisitions, and procurement documentation. Proven experience evaluating supplier technical offers and managing vendor follow-up activities. Familiarity with inspection requirements, quality control processes, and manufacturing documentation review. Excellent communication and coordination skills within multidisciplinary and international project environments. Ability to manage multiple technical interfaces and deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Fluent English required; additional languages are considered an asset.
