In addition, you support daily laboratory operations, ensure clean and organized workspaces, and ensure the timely availability of all materials required for testing.Inventory and waste management: You receive, inspect, store, and manage laboratory items and materials. Furthermore, you monitor inventory levels, coordinate reorders, and support the provision of laboratory clothing and personal protective equipment.Equipment and facility support: You perform activities in the laboratory and maintain the associated documentation. In addition, you conduct regular inspections of laboratory equipment and workspaces, document the results, and report deviations or problems immediately to the responsible parties.Quality and Compliance: You ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with GMP, safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Furthermore, you carry out the necessary documentation carefully and support investigations, CAPA measures, and initiatives for process improvement.Continuous improvement and training: You contribute to the optimization of laboratory processes and workflows, support training activities, share best practices, and promote efficiency, compliance, and the quality of the services provided.ProfileAt Avantor, we are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Service Technician – Microbiology who will provide important laboratory services in a GMP-regulated microbiological laboratory at our site in Schaffhausen. In this position, you are responsible for the timely provision of materials for microbiological testing, ensuring laboratory readiness, supporting inventory and waste management processes, and participating in continuous improvement projects. You work closely with laboratory analysts, technicians, and supervisors to ensure compliance with GMP requirements, customer guidelines, and applicable health, safety, and quality standards while ensuring the efficient flow of microbiological testing activities. This position is based entirely on-site in Schaffhausen. We offer an indefinite full-time contract (40 hours/week). Working hours are regular, Monday to Friday. There is no shift or weekend work.ProfileEducation: Completed technical training, vocational training, or comparable qualification in the fields of laboratory technology, biotechnology, microbiology, life sciences, or a related field.Professional experience: Professional experience in a GMP-regulated environment in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical technology industry, or a related field is required. Experience in supporting microbiological laboratory workflows is an advantage.
