About the opportunity

We are partnering with an established life sciences software company to recruit a Senior Solutions Consultant to support its continued European expansion.

The company helps pharmaceutical and life sciences organisations create, manage and reuse regulated content through a structured content management platform.

Combining consultative pre-sales, technical solution design and life sciences expertise, you will help customers translate regulatory, scientific and operational challenges into practical solutions. You will support complex enterprise opportunities from initial discovery through to implementation handover, working closely with commercial, product and customer success teams.

This is a non-quota-carrying role, with responsibility for building customer confidence, demonstrating business value and ensuring proposed solutions meet technical and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

Customer discovery and solution consulting

  • Partner with Account Executives to understand customer needs across regulatory, clinical, CMC, labelling, safety, quality and medical affairs.
  • Lead discovery sessions and translate customer challenges into tailored solutions and compelling business cases.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, technical walkthroughs and presentations to senior business and technical stakeholders.
  • Provide technical and regulatory expertise throughout the sales process, supporting discussions with IT, information security and procurement teams.

Solution design and technical readiness

  • Lead solution design discussions covering structured authoring, content reuse, metadata and enterprise integrations.
  • Configure platform environments and workflows for demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities and customer-specific use cases.
  • Develop proof-of-concept integrations and scripts where required.
  • Work with Customer Success to assess customer readiness, define initial implementation scope and ensure a smooth handover.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Lead responses to RFPs and RFIs, contributing to security reviews and validation documentation.
  • Identify technical barriers and collaborate with Product and Engineering to resolve them.
  • Share customer insights to inform product development and roadmap priorities.
  • Represent the business in customer workshops, webinars, industry events and advisory discussions.

Experience and skills

  • Typically 7–12 years of relevant experience in solutions consulting, sales engineering, technical product management, implementation consulting or pharmaceutical digital transformation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software customers within pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.
  • Familiarity with structured content management, regulatory information management or traditional content management platforms. Experience with Veeva, OpenText or CARA would be advantageous.
  • A track record of supporting complex opportunities involving global customers and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in terms of business and regulatory value.
  • Confidence leading both strategic customer conversations and detailed technical discussions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across commercial and technical teams.

Regulatory and technical knowledge

  • Strong understanding of relevant life sciences regulations and standards, including GxP, eCTD, IDMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Knowledge of FHIR and its application to pharmaceutical content and data exchange, including ePI, ICH M11, M4Q(R2) and PQI/PQ-CMC.
  • Experience with metadata modelling, taxonomies, ontologies and controlled vocabularies to support structured content reuse.
  • Practical knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML and HTML, including configuring and troubleshooting integrations.
  • Understanding of information security and data privacy requirements, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled pharmaceutical workflows would be beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science, Life Sciences, Regulatory Affairs or Information Systems.
  • An advanced degree or relevant professional certification, such as RAC, PMP, TOGAF or AWS Solutions Architect, would be advantageous.

Personal attributes

You will thrive in this role if you are proactive, pragmatic and comfortable working in a small, evolving business. You should bring a collaborative, consultative approach, take ownership of outcomes and build customer credibility through expertise and clear communication.

The environment offers broad responsibility and opportunities to develop skills across commercial, technical and product functions.
