CastleGate Forwarding (CGF) is a rapidly growing digital freight forwarding start-up within Wayfair, moving containers across the globe to Wayfair’s shelves and elsewhere. We offer a full suite of shipping services (Asia consolidation, ocean freight, drayage, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, etc.) that aims to provide Wayfair suppliers with competitive and convenient logistics solutions. Our proprietary end-to-end logistics network enables us to drive speed, quality and lower costs.

Operating within a dynamic team, you will actively collaborate with cross functional partners, including Product Carriers, Sales and Service, utilising a combination of your project management, persuasive communication, problem solving, technical and analytical skills.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate the movement of containers for the EU market (Germany, France, Poland, and the Netherlands)
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing and negotiating with vendors
• Maintain tables and create visualisation tools for procurement rates for our internal teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Monitor and analyse market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and product improvement
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendor partners
• Design and implement operating models that will drive the future improvements of our operation.
• In partnership with technology & business intelligence teams, drive a diverse roadmap of tech initiatives aimed at building the foundation of this supply chain solutions business for future scale
• Manage and analyse tender submissions working closely with Sales, Service and our Logistics partners

What You’ll Have

• Demonstrable experience successfully operating within a finance, procurement, logistics, or supply chain environment
• English and German (B2 minimum) language fluency, both verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and identify the root cause of a problem and clearly translate to the relevant parties enabling a quick solution
• Engaging communication skills, with the ability to effectively connect, influence and negotiate with vendors.
• High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
• Strong IT system and application knowledge (Microsoft Office, Google Suite- especially Excel).
• Confidence in writing GBQ queries and creating basic dashboards on DataStudio
