THE ROLE

We offer you an exciting role as Product Developer for Wella Retail Hair R&D to design, develop and deliver new & holistic hair propositions, covering hair color and ancillaries for multiple regions to support the growth of our global Wella Retail Hair Color business.

The mission is enabling ambitious growth & value creation via bringing superior, premium & differentiated products to market and winning with consumer relevant benefits, concepts and business models.

Within your role you will be responsible for :

• Support development and design new Hair Colorant products for our Wella Retail Brand(s).
• Develop market and competitive landscape understanding as well as consumer knowledge of our product category to drive new & meaningful products, claims and demo development
• Deliver technical product design criteria, test design and claims support with in vitro / in vivo methods
• Support technical readiness, registration / notification, freedom to practice for product launch
• Work closely with global / regional multifunctional teams (technical & commercial) to deliver initiatives.
• Occasional international travel for consumer research and / or training might be required

WHAT YOU CAN BRING

• Technical background : Minimum bachelor’s degree from University in Natural Sciences or Engineering (Chemistry, Chem-eng, Cosmetic Sciences, Natural Sciences, Biology / Biotech or related fields).
• Being beauty & hair involved and / or work experience in the Beauty / hair category would be beneficial.
• Love for consumer understanding, technology and R&D : Consumer insight and technical curiosity / understanding, desire to penetrate science deeply and support claims with robust science approaches and translate scientific insights into intuitive and relevant science stories and demos.
• Good communication and collaboration skills : this role will require daily interactions across technical and commercial functions and the candidate should be able to communicate and influence and represent R&D within x-functional teams.
• Passionate about new digital and AI tools / applications as well as digital product communication and social media, experienced with different types of applications would be welcomed (i.e. Instagram, TikTok)
• Capable and willing to work in a fast-paced environment
• Company language is English. Any other language knowledge is very welcomed.
