Overview
In this role you ensure high-quality EN to FRCA translation outputs and lead linguistic tasks for assigned accounts. You will coordinate translators, train freelancers, and ensure adherence to language processes and project deadlines. You’ll handle on-demand translation, post-editing, and terminology management while collaborating with clients and the French team to drive consistent quality. This position leverages AI-enabled workflows within Welocalize’s Opal platform to scale multilingual content globally.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Perform quality control on EN→FRCA projects
- Execute on-demand translation tasks (EN→FRCA)
- Perform trans-creation, translation and post-editing (EN→FRCA)
- Manage translation-related admin tasks (EN→FRCA)
- Coordinate project-related queries and client interactions on linguistic matters
- Prepare and maintain language materials (glossaries, style guides, work instructions)
- Develop and train freelancers according to needs
- Foster good team interaction and resolve terminology questions
- Contribute to new and improved working processes
- Meet goals set by the French Team Lead
Zentrale Anforderungen
- University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent
- 4+ years in translation/localization
- Fluent in French Canadian (native level) and English, both written and spoken
- Experience as translator in mobile apps, search engines, IT consumer products, entertainment, marketing, software UI, websites (a plus)
- Strong language sense and terminology knowledge in IT consumer products, social media, and entertainment
- Understanding of localization processes and familiarity with standard software and CAT tools
- Ability to learn new localization tools quickly
- Strong presentation and communication skills with stakeholders
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to train/teach others and work in a virtual team
