Overview
In this role you will quality-control and perform on-demand translation and copy edits (English to German) while taking linguistic lead on assigned accounts. You will coordinate translators, train freelancers, and ensure adherence to the Language Process to meet deadlines and quality targets. You’ll manage glossaries and style guides, research for quality improvements, and interact with clients on linguistic matters. This is a remote, cross-functional role focused on delivering high-quality multilingual content at scale.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Translate/perform copy edits for entertainment, marketing, PR and Life Sciences content (English→German)
- Lead support on assigned projects/accounts
- Coordinate and train translators (internal and freelancers)
- Maintain and update language materials (glossaries, style guides, work instructions)
- Conduct quality-focused research to improve delivery
- Master and use translation tools
- Follow established processes and raise queries when needed
- Engage with clients on linguistic matters
- Contribute to development of new/updated workflows
- Mentor/train internal linguists and freelancers per account needs
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Native fluency in German
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- 3+ years in Translation/Localization of marketing & Life Sciences content
- University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of the localization process
- Proficiency with Windows and Office
- Experience with CAT tools (XTM, SDL Studio) and issue tracking tools (JIRA)
- Ability to present information to groups of managers/clients/linguists
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
