Job Duties:
Analysis and engineering of various structures, including, but not limited to: high-rise, office, residential, etc., including preparation and management of all design phases (through completion). Preparation and writing of project specifications.
The experience should include analysis and design within the US for structures in steel, timber and concrete (at a minimum), and (at a minimum) exposure in international codes. Knowledge and experience of specialty structures design (glass, sculptures, etc) is preferred. Travel to national and international locations on a routine basis required.
Minimum Education Required:
Master of Science in Structural Engineering.
Minimum Employment Experience Required:
Eight years of experience in the job offered, or ten years of experience as a Project Manager in Structural Engineering role.
Special Skills, Expertise:
- Must be very experienced with industry standard engineering analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RFEM, RAM;
- Ability to create analysis tools using Excel and/or other platforms;
- Autocad, Rhino and Revit knowledge is also required and exposure to other software such as Sofistik is a plus;
- Expertise in design and detailing of timber, steel and concrete structures is required;
- Knowledge of masonry structure design (actual work experience preferred);
- Glass design experience is a plus;
- New construction experience required, existing/renovation experience is a plus;
- Must be willing and able to mentor younger structural engineers and grow the team;
- Willing to maintain a pleasant, effective and collaborative work environment;
- Business Development skills are a plus;
- Architectural engineering-driven mindset required.
Other Requirements:
- American Citizenship or Green Card Holder Status;
- Active P.E. license in NY State at a minimum;
- Fluent in English (knowledge of the German language is a plus).
