Role overview
Westhafen is hiring its first employees in Germany, and each of them needs a German contract, a payroll setup and someone to ask about leave and pensions. We are hiring an HR Specialist in Germany to set that up and run it. Our New York office is six hours behind Germany. The job is full-time and remote.
Your part in it
1) Prepare employment contracts and onboarding documents with our employment lawyer
2) Send monthly payroll changes to our payroll provider and check the results.
3) Keep personnel files and leave records in Personio
4) Run hiring for German positions with the partners
5) Answer employees' questions about contracts, leave and the company pension.

Must-haves
• A degree or vocational training with a focus on human resources
• First experience in HR administration or recruiting, apprenticeship or internship included.
• Basic knowledge of German employment law and payroll
Nice to have
• Experience with Personio or another HR system
• Experience in a small or growing company
In return
The job comes with 30 working days of leave a year; company pension (bAV), Westhafen contributes; yearly allowance for training and professional exams; laptop and home office equipment from us; flexible start and end of the day; and permanent full-time contract under German law, working from home.
