Purchasing Specialist in Frankfurt am Main

The Position
Several of our current reviews concern purchasing at mid-sized manufacturers in Germany: proposals to centralize buying, change suppliers or renegotiate contracts. Westhafen is hiring a Purchasing Specialist in Germany to work on them with our team in New York, six hours behind you. The job is full-time, and you work from home.

Westhafen Consulting is a management consultancy in New York. We advise executive teams, owners and boards of mid-sized companies, family businesses and investors on capital allocation, organization, leadership succession and proposed acquisitions. Each assignment ends in a written assessment that says which assumptions a recommendation rests on and what is still open.

What the Work Involves

• Build overviews of purchase volumes and prices by supplier from ERP exports
• Check which volumes are under contract and which discounts depend on purchases not yet agreed
• Compare supplier quotes, payment terms and lead times
• Work out how a proposed change would affect inventory and order lead times
• Prepare tables for the consultants writing the assessment
• Keep track of the documents and data requested from each client

What We Ask For

• Commercial vocational training, such as Industriekaufmann or Industriekauffrau, or a degree in business
• Experience in purchasing, order processing or materials planning, apprenticeship included
• An ERP system such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or proALPHA
• Excel, including pivot tables and lookups
