About the role:

As a Site Technician D&D you will support Decommissioning & Dismantling (D&D) projects at nuclear facilities across Europe. The position involves hands‑on field activities including mechanical dismantling, segmentation, assembly, lifting operations, and support to reactor internals and reactor pressure vessel projects.

The role requires extensive travel and the ability to work abroad for extended periods in a highly regulated environment.

You will report to the Operations Manager Environmental Solutions and be located at Mannheim.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform dismantling, segmentation, assembly, machining, welding, and mechanical activities in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Read and execute work based on technical drawings, work packages, and instructions.
  • Support lifting and rigging activities, including overhead crane operations when qualified.
  • Comply with all safety, quality, environmental, and radiological protection requirements.
  • Participate in pre‑job briefings, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Work effectively within small, multicultural teams and contribute to safe project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical work, assembly, welding, machining, or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience working from technical drawings and written procedures.
  • Technical vocational qualification or equivalent experience in Mechanical Maintenance, Welding, Machining, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline.
  • Experience in nuclear power plants or regulated industrial environments.
  • Previous D&D experience.
  • Experience supporting reactor internals, reactor pressure vessel, or segmentation projects.
  • Radiation Worker Training or equivalent nuclear qualifications.
  • Previous experience working away from home for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout Europe.
  • Willingness to work abroad up to three consecutive weeks per month throughout the year.
  • Ability to meet site access, medical, and fitness‑for‑duty requirements.
  • Demonstrate a strong safety‑first mindset.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for assigned work.
