Westwood’s growing Geospatial Department provides professional-level products to its clients, leveraging the latest in industry technology. Westwood has a highly experienced, dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. /p pThe Senior Remote Sensing Technician is responsible for post-processing aerial data to final deliverables supporting multiple markets and users. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all deliverables created from LiDAR and imagery data from both manned and unmanned aircraft, troubleshooting technical issues, and conducting quality control checks. The Senior Remote Sensing Technician will work closely with Remote Sensing Project Leads and other stakeholders to support the successful execution of projects. /p h3Requirements /h3 h3Duties and Responsibilities: /h3 ul liWork closely with Remote Sensing Leadership and Project Leads to meet project expectations. /li liPerform post-processing procedures according to internal guidelines and industry best practices. /li liCreate final deliverables based on project scope for various markets ready for the client as final deliverables. /li liTroubleshoot technical issues related aerial datasets. /li liConduct thorough quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability from junior technicians. /li liStay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in remote sensing. /li liAssist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for aerial deliverables. /li liCollaborate with software vendors to address issues and obtain necessary support. /li liParticipate in training programs and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and skills. /li liAssist with testing and implementation of new software. /li /ul h3Required Experience /h3 ul liMinimum 5+ years of experience or Associate degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., geomatics, surveying, remote sensing). /li liMinimum 3+ years in a senior technician role. /li liASPRS certifications highly desired. /li liStrong understanding of LiDAR and remote sensing principles and data processing. /li liProficiency in using Remote Sensing software and tools, such as, TerraSolid, RiProcess, MicroStation, MetaShape, Photoshop, PLS-CADD, TopoDOT. /li liIn depth knowledge of coordinate systems and projections. /li liIndustry experience in power generation and delivery, DOT, and renewables. /li liScripting and light programming knowledge to support automation. /li liFamiliarity with surveying techniques and equipment for project control understanding. /li liExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. /li liStrong attention to detail and ability to work with precision. /li liEffective communication and teamwork skills. /li liAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. /li liWillingness to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends. /li /ul pNote: This job description is a general outline of the key responsibilities and qualifications of a Remote Sensing Calibration Technician.
