Projects and Funding Officer for HQ based in Geneva IMPACT Initiatives is a humanitarian NGO, based in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization manages several initiatives, including the REACH Initiative, the PANDA Initiative, and the AGORA Initiative, aimed at enhancing humanitarian decision making and planning capacity. The IMPACT team comprises specialists in data collection, management, analysis, and GIS. IMPACT was launched at the initiative of Acted, and the two organizations have a strong complementarity formalized in a global partnership. BACKGROUND ON THE PROJECTS AND FUNDING UNIT’S STRATEGY In 2023, the Department for Projects and Institutional Partnerships (PIPD) developed a strategy to align departmental priorities with IMPACT’s global roadmap. The objective is to identify and sustain effective fundraising, proposal, and project management processes embraced by all teams. This strategy has led to the restructuring of the department into two units: The Projects and Funding unit (PFU) The Institutional Partnerships unit (IPU) The role of the department is to support and coordinate funding and project implementation as well as knowledge management in compliance with best practices and donor requirements. We are currently looking for a Projects and Funding Officer to support our Projects and Institutional Partnership department based in our Geneva HQ. Position: Projects and Funding Officer Contract duration: Open-ended Starting Date: 17th February 2025 Deadline to apply: 13th January 2025 FUNCTIONS The Projects and Funding Officer reports to the Projects and Funding Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day management of proposal and grant processes. RESPONSIBILITIES: SUPPORT TO FUNDRAISING Identification of funding opportunities Support country teams in identifying funding opportunities. Analyse calls for proposals and tenders, and communicate relevant donor and proposal requirements. Provide guidance to field/global teams on donor templates and requirements. Proposal development and submission Liaise with teams to establish submission timelines and ensure all relevant HQ and field focal points are aware of expectations. Review and validate all proposal documents for alignment with IMPACT and donor requirements. Provide direct inputs to the proposal preparation where relevant. Consolidate the application package and submit according to donor modalities. PROJECT CYCLE MANAGEMENT FOLLOW-UP Compliance with donor requirements during project implementation Review all donor contracts prior to signature. Ensure all contractual requirements are tracked and communicated to relevant stakeholders. Review and validate all donor narrative reports before submission. Support and coordinate reporting requirements, ensuring compliance throughout the project duration. Lead the process for contractual amendments in coordination with the field team. Ensure IMPACT’s project database remains up to date. Ensure department processes are implemented and guide country and HQ focal points on donor requirements. Review monthly updates from country teams to anticipate upcoming deadlines. Support the formalization of external partnerships and review grant agreements with global partners. Contribute to the development of guidance, tools, and templates for the department. REQUIREMENTS Studies related to humanities or social sciences, and/or other relevant fields. At least 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in humanitarian settings. Excellent written and spoken English; good working level in French is an asset. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. Proven experience of copy-writing and editing articles, reports, and presentations. Academic exposure to grant management, program management, and/or monitoring and evaluation. Attention to detail, meticulousness, and organization. Proactive team player with independent working capability. Excellent communication skills. Critical thinking skills to identify problems and propose solutions. Ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment under stress and tight deadlines. Fast learner and resourceful individual, willing to take on challenges. Experience in the non-profit sector and understanding of humanitarian coordination systems. Knowledge of donor/institutional funding mechanisms. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Gross salary between 5,200 CHF and 5,350 CHF monthly (before income tax). A contribution to medical insurance of 520 CHF per month is included. Insurance covering professional and non-professional accidents during employment. Health insurance, life insurance, and repatriation assistance for field visits.
