Provide strategic global techno-commercial leadership in developing new Active Ingredients (AIs) from Research through launch in key markets. Support Regional and Territory R&D for effective Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) and local development. Develop global Resistance Management strategies and support local interpretation. Set direction, lead technical excellence and functional standards for weed control indication across the global field development platform. Accountabilities: Lead and develop the Weed Control Product Biology team, managing budgets and resources aligned with CP strategy. Define Active Ingredient search targets and priorities with Marketing, Regions, and Research. Drive adoption of Digital Implementation plan within Weed Control globally and in the regions. Design and communicate technical strategies for products and their users, investigating performance data for our own and competitors\‘ products. Create biology roadmaps and development plans for new AIs and PLCM projects. Ensure high-quality field programs and protocols, reviewing effectiveness and efficiency. Align priorities across Development functions, CP Research, and Marketing to coordinate work plans and agree priorities in line with global portfolio strategies, ensuring a balance of resource investments to deliver the agreed portfolio. Identify collaboration opportunities to maintain or enhance technical leadership and innovation. Identify the technical foundations for product sustainability, provide global focus for resistance management for all weed control products and represent Syngenta on external bodies like HRAC (Herbicide Resistance Action Committee). Qualifications: Qualified in agronomy or crop protection to PhD-level or professional equivalent with 10+ years of experience working in relevant industry or academic roles. Well-developed people management skills to achieve motivation and results. Influencing skills to achieve win-win outcomes and productive collaboration. A basic understanding of project management and how to effectively lead and contribute to projects, including collaboration management, budgeting and resource allocation. Practical technical experience in agronomy and crop protection, and preferably working with weed control products. Successful Country, Regional or Global experience in the management of crop protection development projects. Success working in, or with, key markets and countries in driving projects and teams to add value to the business, and forming relationships with influencers to gain business and political credibility and influence. Field biology experiment and program management experience. Customer-focused approach with ability to understand market needs. Proven leadership, communication, and networking skills in multicultural environments. Track record of meeting targets, managing risks, and working to deadlines. Experience communicating to senior and expert audiences. Collaboration management experience preferred.
