This is a permanent role based in the canton of Bern. You will take on the professional leadership responsibility for all import/export and customs matters and represent the company to the customs authorities. As a reference point in all customs and regulatory matters, you are the internal point of contact, trainer of our organization, and are responsible for the correct implementation. Additionally, you are knowledgeable in the area of transport and the assessment of associated costs and conditions. You have experience in negotiating relevant contracts with logistics partners. Your responsibilities: Central point of contact within the group and externally for customs authorities, customers, and logistics partners for all import/export and customs matters. Regular updating of relevant import/export regulations, followed by informing and training the internal organization. Updating work processes according to new import or export regulations. Conducting audits and controls to ensure compliance within the organization and initiating any necessary updates in the ERP system. Identifying the organization\’s transport needs and preparing tender documents for negotiating contracts with logistics partners. Supporting negotiations with transport companies. Optimizing transports from a cost and ecological perspective. Handling independent import/export orders, including invoicing. Preparing electronic customs declarations (e-dec), customs, and shipping documents. Your profile: Education in Supply Chain. At least 10 years of practical experience in import/export order processing, freight forwarding, or customs in an internationally active industrial company. In-depth knowledge of all customs matters and topics as well as international import and export regulations: rules of origin, free trade agreements, preferential status, customs regulations, export controls, sanctions, etc. Practical experience in the use of digital logistics platforms of transport and logistics companies. Proficient in MS Office applications and ERP systems. Bilingual in German/French , both written and spoken, with good knowledge of English. Persuasiveness and eloquence, high social competence.
