About the Role
As Whitewater Group continues to expand its Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) operations, we are seeking an OSM Plant & Finance Controller to support the financial and operational performance of our manufacturing facility. This is a hybrid role, ideally suited to someone based in Tomelloso or the surrounding area. However, if you live in Madrid and are willing to travel to Tomelloso regularly, the role could also be a good fit.
Working closely with the OSM Director, the successful candidate will act as a key Finance partner to the factory, providing financial insight and supporting operational decision-making while maintaining a strong presence on the factory floor.
This role will be responsible for overseeing plant performance reporting and KPIs, developing reliable product, project and job costing, monitoring labour productivity, capacity, overhead absorption, manufacturing efficiency, WIP, inventory and working capital, and supporting budgeting, forecasting and monthly performance analysis. Working closely with the Spain Finance Lead and Operations team, the successful candidate will also support month-end closing, P&L and balance sheet reporting, CAPEX tracking, intercompany costing and billing, and ensure manufacturing activity is accurately reflected in the financial results.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the OSM Director as the key Finance partner for the factory, supporting operational and financial decision-making and maintaining a strong presence on the factory floor.
- Develop and maintain plant performance reporting and KPIs, including labour productivity, capacity, overhead absorption and manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop reliable product, project and job costing, including actual versus estimate analysis, and margin follow-up.
- Monitor WIP, inventory, purchasing and working capital related to the manufacturing operation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and monthly performance analysis for the plant.
- Work closely with the Spain Finance Lead on monthly closing, invoicing, P&L and balance sheet, ensuring manufacturing activity is accurately reflected in the financial results.
- Track the new factory CAPEX programme, including spend, commitments and actual versus budget.
- Support intercompany costing and billing between the manufacturing entity and the Group's commercial entities.
- Identify cost, productivity and process improvement opportunities and follow up agreed actions with Operations.
- Collaborate in the ERP implementation and other systems/process improvements affecting the manufacturing operation.
Your profile
- 2–4 years of experience in Controlling, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering or project-based environment.
- University degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and controlling.
- Experience with manufacturing and/or project costing, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of inventory and WIP analysis and CAPEX tracking.
- Strong Excel skills and good systems literacy.
- Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of standard costing, labour and overhead absorption and intercompany costing is an advantage.
- Experience working closely with Operations and/or Plant Management is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on and pragmatic approach.
- Proactive, curious and commercially minded, comfortable working on the factory floor and interacting closely with operational teams.
- Ability to challenge constructively and build strong relationships with different stakeholders.
- Structured, organised and detail-oriented, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work primarily from the Tomelloso plant, either based locally or spending a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
- Willingness to travel to other production facilities in Spain when required.
