About the Role
As Whitewater Group continues to expand its international operations, we are seeking a Finance Specialist to support the day-to-day financial management of our Spanish entities. Working closely with the Spain Finance Lead, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting core accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial information while progressively developing broader Finance and analytical responsibilities.
This role will be responsible for supporting accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, expenses, payments, accruals and prepayments, as well as bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations and the monthly close process. The successful candidate will also support monthly P&L and balance sheet reporting, working capital and cash management, tax and statutory compliance, Group reporting and consolidation requirements. As experience develops, the role will progressively take on responsibilities across budgeting, forecasting, project profitability and financial analysis, while also contributing to Finance process improvements and the implementation of the new ERP system.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Spain Finance Lead with day-to-day accounting activities, including AP, AR, invoices, expenses, payments, accruals and prepayments.
- Prepare bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations and support the monthly close.
- Support the preparation and review of monthly P&L, balance sheet and management reporting.
- Assist with working capital monitoring, cash management and payment processes.
- Support tax and statutory compliance activities, working with the Finance Lead and external advisors where required.
- Progressively support budgeting, forecasting, project profitability and other financial analysis.
- Support Group reporting and consolidation requirements for the Spanish entities.
- Collaborate in Finance process improvements and the new ERP implementation.
- Take on broader responsibilities as experience and capability develop.
Your profile
- Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting.
- Experience in general accounting, month-end close, reconciliations and day-to-day Finance processes is desirable.
- Exposure to an international, multi-entity, project-based or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline.
- Additional accounting or Finance qualifications are desirable but not required.
- Good foundation in financial accounting and month-end processes.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, AP and AR, and intercompany accounting.
- Basic understanding of tax and statutory compliance.
- Strong Excel skills and good systems literacy.
- ERP experienceisdesirable.
- Fluent English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, curious and willing to learn, with the potential to take on increasing levels of responsibility.
- Comfortable combining transactional and administrative Finance tasks with progressively more technical, analytical and business-focused responsibilities.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to develop are more important than having previous experience across every area of the role.
