WHU has more than 60 faculty members in the fields of management, finance and accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing and sales, and supply chain management. Research at WHU adheres to three research principles: quality, internationality, as well as practical and academic relevance. WHU faculty consistently publish their research in the most prestigious journals.
The successful candidate will lead an innovative research agenda and contribute to teaching in WHU’s graduate and Executive Education programs. Their research should advance knowledge in leadership, business psychology or broader OB/HRM topics (e.g., teams, culture, motivation, talent development, employee functioning) in the context of technological and societal transformation. In addition, the candidate is expected to collaborate actively with WHU’s Center for Responsible Leadership. We are searching for an advanced scholar who is prepared to assume academic functions (e.g., area/service roles, program directorship, curriculum initiatives).
Job Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent academic qualification in Organizational Psychology, Management, or a closely related discipline, with a strong emphasis on the area of Leadership.
- Proven record of scholarly excellence, demonstrated by publications in leading academic journals and, ideally, by the acquisition of competitive external research funding.
- Experience in executive education, including the ability to design, deliver, and further develop programs in collaboration with a broad range of corporate and organizational partners, as well as a clear commitment to contributing to WHU’s executive education portfolio.
- Outstanding communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
- Close collaboration with the corporate sector to build up and advance Executive Education programs at WHU is regarded as a key requirement.
WHU offers a competitive salary as well as an attractive package consisting of a research budget and administrative assistance. The teaching load is typically 192 academic hours per academic year, subject to adjustment based on WHU needs. Moreover, our modern campuses provide faculty with a high-quality research and teaching infrastructure.
