As a Senior Scientist within Molecular Cellular Sciences (MCS), you will play a critical role in executing exploratory biomarker strategies across our clinical pipeline. You will work at the intersection of biology, technology, and clinical development to deliver innovative biomarker solutions that enable smarter decisions and better outcomes for patients. /p pThis is a hands on laboratory based position where you will develop state of the art biomarker assays across multiple programs, collaborate with global experts, and drive the implementation of cutting-edge biomarker technologies from early development through clinical studies. /p pBased on binding Swiss work permit regulations, this position can only be offered to an applicant that already has an EU/EFTA or Swiss Passport, or a non-EU/EFTA national that already has an unrestricted Swiss Residence Work Permit or family reunification ”B permit”. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liHands-on development and validation of soluble biomarker assays with special focus on ligand binding assays such as ELISA, MSD, NULISA, and Ella and other state of the art technologies including LC-MS. /li liProviding subject matter expertise for transferring, implementation and monitoring of soluble biomarker assay development, validation and sample analysis at external providers. /li liGenerate and interpret biomarker assay data to enable proof of mechanism, dose selection proof of biology across early clinical programs and present results at internal meetings. /li liEnsuring quality and timely delivery of data generated through internal and outsourced biomarker assay activities. /li liServe as the scientific and technical lead for exploratory soluble biomarker assays, including assay strategy, data quality, interpretation, documentation, and alignment to context of use and clinical study endpoints. /li liMaintain high standards for scientific rigor, documentation, data integrity, compliance, safety, and technical excellence in accordance with applicable Novartis policies and procedures. /li /ul h3Essential Qualifications /h3 ul liBS/MS degree in Biology, Immunology, Cell biology or equivalent field with experience as a laboratory technician with 5+ year in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment. /li liExtensive understanding, knowledge and practical experience in ligand binding assays are essential, and experience in LC-MS methods and other related technologies will be a plus. /li liStrong analytical thinking, accountability, and collaborative teamwork. /li liExperience working in a global organization and matrix-resourcing model is a plus. /li liGood Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Soft MaxPro, SMART Book, GraphPad Prism, Watson LIMS). /li liGood written and oral communication skills. /liliUnderstanding of regulatory requirement relevant to Biomarker Development (e.g. GCLP, ICH). /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liStrong track record for providing scientific contributions in biomarkers, translational science, or analytical technologies. /li liEstablished external scientific reputation through conferences, collaborations, publications, or consortia. /li /ul h3Workload /h3 p100% (40 hours per week) /p h3Role type /h3 pOnsite /p h3Required start date /h3 pOctober/November 2026 /p h3Contract /h3 p6 months /p h3Why Novartis /h3 pHelping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
