The Opportunity:
This is not a maintenance role. You'll be the person who translates clinical, CMC and commercial plans into one integrated, decision-ready financial view – owning budgets, forecasts and long-range plans, and acting as the primary finance partner to Development Operations, Tech Ops/CMC, and our emerging commercial functions. You'll build visibility over every CRO/CDMO commitment, challenge assumptions with scientific and operational leaders, and lay the groundwork for the team you'll grow as we scale.
You'll report to the Head of Business Planning (who reports to the CFO) and work closely with the CFO, COO, and leaders across R&D, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial – starting as a senior individual contributor with a clear mandate to build.
What you'll do
- Own the annual budget, rolling forecasts and long-range plan across programs, functions and entities.
- Act as lead finance business partner to Development Operations and Tech Ops/CMC, and a strong partner to Clinical Development, Research, Regulatory and Quality.
- Build robust visibility over CRO/CDMO commitments, accruals and estimate-at-completion forecasts.
- Translate integrated project plans into program-level financial forecasts and cash-runway implications.
- Prepare financial content for portfolio, Executive Leadership Team and Board reviews.
- Design a scalable FP&A and controlling operating model, and build and lead the team as we scale.
What you bring
- 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A and business controlling, including senior leadership responsibility in a complex, international environment.
- Substantial hands-on biotech or pharmaceutical R&D FP&A experience, ideally with direct responsibility for late-stage clinical development and Tech Ops/CMC finance, including CRO/CDMO spend.
- Experience in a pre-IPO, public-company, or otherwise investor-scrutinized setting, including strong controls and Board-level management reporting.
- Strong command of clinical-trial and CMC cost drivers, accruals, estimate-at-completion forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Proven ability to influence senior scientific and operational leaders through clear analysis and constructive challenge.
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; a recognized professional qualification or MBA is an advantage.
- Fluent in English; German, French or another relevant language is an advantage.
If you want your financial models to directly shape which molecules reach patients next, we'd like to talk.
