SAP Test Manager – Group Test Strategy in Düsseldorf

We're looking for an experienced SAP Test Manager to take ownership of the overarching SAP test strategy within a large, complex international organisation.

This isn't another project-based testing role where you're focused solely on test execution, individual releases or project deadlines.

You'll be responsible for defining how SAP testing works across the wider organisation — establishing the strategy, implementing the right frameworks and tools, and ensuring a consistent, optimised approach across multiple programmes.

If you've previously built or transformed an SAP testing strategy and want to operate at a strategic level, this could be an excellent next step.

• Own the SAP test strategy: Define, implement and continuously improve the group-wide approach to SAP testing across multiple programmes and projects.
• Build the framework: Establish the processes, standards and prerequisites required for an effective, scalable SAP testing environment, working closely with the SAP Architecture Board.
• Shape the tooling landscape: Evaluate, select and introduce appropriate SAP testing solutions, including tools for test management, automation and optimisation.
• Drive consistency: Establish standards for test processes, test case design and optimisation across projects, programmes and releases.
• Provide strategic guidance: Support project test managers and test engineers, ensuring a consistent approach to quality and testing across the organisation.
• Work internationally: Collaborate with distributed teams, including colleagues and delivery partners in India and Poland.
• Influence at senior level: Report directly to the Head of Department and act as the central point of responsibility for the SAP test strategy.

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience as a Senior SAP Test Manager, with demonstrable responsibility for an overarching test strategy.
• Proven experience defining and implementing testing frameworks, strategies and processes within complex SAP environments.
• Strong knowledge of the SAP testing tools market, including the ability to evaluate, select and implement the right solutions.
• Experience working across multiple projects or programmes, rather than exclusively managing testing within a single implementation.
• The ability to engage with SAP architecture, programme leadership and technical delivery teams at both strategic and operational levels.
• Excellent English communication skills, with the confidence to work across international teams.
• Willingness to work onsite in Düsseldorf approximately 50% of the time, typically around two weeks per month.
